4 x the most beautiful walking routes in the area

4 x the most beautiful walking routes in the area

Want to really experience the Ardèche? Then walking is the best way to do so. A varied landscape of forests, hills, views and hidden paths lies at your feet here.

These four beautiful walking routes are easily accessible from Le Petit Moras and can be perfectly combined with a relaxing stay.

1. Caves of La Jaubernie – circular route via Croix (Coux)

Distance: approx. 5.8 km

Duration: ± 1 hour 45

An ideal first walk to get into the rhythm of the Ardèche. You walk along quiet forest paths and open ridges, with beautiful views of the landscape. No extreme differences in altitude, but enough variety to feel like you are really out and about.

Perfect for a relaxed morning walk, after which you will still have plenty of time for lunch on a terrace.

2. Cascade de Rochecolombe – Alissas

Distance: approx. 10 km

Duration: approx. 3 hours

One of the most famous walks in the region. You walk through woods and hills towards the Rochecolombe waterfall. This is an impressive place, especially in spring and after rainfall.

The route offers several viewpoints over the valley and feels like a little voyage of discovery. Nature, silence and fresh air in abundance.

3. Croix – Coux loop

Distance: ± 9.3 km

Duration: ± 3 hours

For those looking for a little more of a challenge. This loop combines ascents and descents with open sections and sheltered paths. Along the way, you can look out over the hills of the Ardèche and notice how wonderfully empty and spacious it still is here.

A route that really gives you the feeling of being away from it all.

4. View of Privas – loop near Alissas

Distance: ± 7.8 km

Duration: ± 2 hours 20

Relatively short, but spectacular in terms of views. From various points, you can look out over the valley towards Privas, the capital of the Ardèche. Especially beautiful in the afternoon, when the light softens and the landscape turns golden.

Ideal if you want to be active during the day and then go out for a bite to eat in the evening.
